When your air conditioner needs a repair, most times, our service technicians have the needed replacement parts stocked in their trucks. But what about large parts or specialty parts?
We Head to the Supply House!
That’s why we love our A/C supply houses! Supply houses are large warehouses full of all the needed materials for the trade. If the supply house doesn't have the part we need, they can order it for us right away.
There are many types of thermostats to choose from! How can you know which one is right for you? Here are a few of our favorite options, covering every price range and style preference. We like the digital thermostats for a more modern look, and Honeywell is our preferred brand. They have proven to be both cost-effective and very reliable.

What is air duct cleaning? And is it necessary? We hear these questions often, and even though Clark Heating & Cooling does not offer air duct cleaning services, we would like to discuss the pros and cons of this type of cleaning.
It's Dusty in the Desert
Due to our extremely dusty climate, it makes sense that everything in your home will need to be thoroughly cleaned or dusted at some point. This includes
If you live in an older neighborhood in the Valley, you may have noticed many of the houses in your area have two box-like structures on the roof. One of them is the air conditioner, and the other box is most likely an evaporative cooler. So what exactly is an evaporative cooler, and why are they only on some homes?
What are Evaporative Coolers?
An evaporative cooler is different from an air conditioner. It uses
It’s usually pretty dusty outside here in the Valley! Even without a dust storm, our air is not exactly the cleanest. Did you know that just by getting your A/C coils rinsed, it can run much more effectively?
Coil Rinsing
This method of rinsing is actually called “coil cleaning.” As mentioned in an earlier post, your air conditioning unit sucks in outside air and circulates it through the unit. The fan (located inside the
Your air conditioner works hard, especially during the summer! There are lots of moving pieces to your air conditioner, and it's important to make sure everything is working right. Clark Heating & Cooling recommends regular routinee maintenance on your climate control system. Your home’s A/C should be checked once in the spring, and your heater should be checked once in the fall. You'll want to make sure your system is ready to keep your home at a
Even though it’s over 100 degrees outside, the inside of your house is a nice, cool temperature, thanks to your air conditioner. Have you ever wondered how your A/C produces cold air?
The answer is Freon!
Freon is a cooling substance that runs through the A/C unit, and is a chemical made of carbon, hydrogen, chlorine, and fluorine. The word “Freon” is actually a name brand for a type of refrigerant. This substance is non-toxic, non-flammable
Now that we're into the summer months, electric bills will be soaring!
Here are a few tips to help you lower your energy bill this summer.
1. Wash Dishes by Hand
If you don’t have an energy efficient dishwasher, you might be able to lower your energy bill washing your dishes by hand. Dish washing costs can be hard to figure out because of all the factors involved, but the most expensive part of dish washing

CHC replaced my home AC system on 21Jun2024 (117F and muggy!). My old system was a high performing 19 yr old American Standard product where the compressor died of old age. My new system is same as my old system except a York product. It is a 5 ton split system with gas furnace / air blower / controller and evaporator heat exchanger, located in a central closet inside the house, and condenser heat exchanger / 3 phase compressor, located in a cabinet on the ground outside. It took two technicians Gabe, and Robert, 8 hrs to remove the previous equipment, install the new equipment, adjust controls/fluids and clean the jobsite. Everything but the house mounted control wires and refrigerant lines was replaced. The new system seems reliable and performs very well. The workspace in the central closet was very challenging requiring CHC to carefully plan and execute the disassembly/removal of the old equipment and assembly/installation of the new equipment. I was very pleased they completed all the work in one day at a price under $10k. There were no unexpected costs or changes and CHC disposed of all the old equipement and related trash. Robert and Gabe were very professional and surprisingly robust in the horrible heat. Job well done!
